Full Report
Multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in Google Chrome, the most severe of which could allow for arbitrary code execution. Successful exploitation of the most severe of these vulnerabilities could allow for arbitrary code execution in the context of the logged on user. Depending on the privileges associated with the user an attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than those who operate with administrative user rights.
Analysis Summary
# Vulnerability: Multiple Google Chrome Vulnerabilities (Sept 2026)
## CVE Details
- **CVE ID:** CVE-2026-95350, CVE-2026-95281, CVE-2026-95284 (Buffer Overflows); CVE-2026-95339 (UAF); CVE-2026-95306 (Type Confusion), and others (70+ CVEs total).
- **CVSS Score:** Not explicitly provided; Severity rated as **High/Medium**.
- **CWE:** CWE-119 (Buffer Overflow), CWE-416 (Use After Free), CWE-787 (Out-of-bounds Write), CWE-843 (Type Confusion).
## Affected Systems
- **Products:** Google Chrome Browser
- **Versions:**
- Chrome prior to 154.0.8037.57/.58 for Windows and Mac
- Chrome prior to 154.0.8037.57 for Linux
- **Configurations:** Systems where users operate with administrative privileges are at higher risk.
## Vulnerability Description
A massive suite of vulnerabilities exists across multiple Chrome components, including **ANGLE, GPU, V8 JavaScript engine, WebGL, and PDFium**. The most critical flaws involve memory corruption (Buffer Overflows and Use-After-Free). These allow an attacker to bypass memory safety protections to execute arbitrary code. If a user visits a specially crafted malicious website, the attacker can execute commands in the context of the current user.
## Exploitation
- **Status:** Not exploited in the wild (as of Sept 24, 2026).
- **Complexity:** Medium (requires user interaction via drive-by compromise).
- **Attack Vector:** Network (Remote/Web-based).
## Impact
- **Confidentiality:** High (Ability to view data).
- **Integrity:** High (Ability to change/delete data and install programs).
- **Availability:** High (Ability to delete data or crash the system).
## Remediation
### Patches
Update Google Chrome to the latest stable channel versions:
- **Windows and Mac:** 154.0.8037.57/.58 or later.
- **Linux:** 154.0.8037.57 or later.
### Workarounds
- **Principle of Least Privilege:** Operate using standard user accounts rather than administrative accounts to limit the scope of a potential compromise.
- **Web Filtering:** Block access to untrusted or known malicious websites to mitigate drive-by download risks.
## Detection
- **Indicators of Compromise:** Unusual browser crashes, unauthorized new user accounts, or unexplained software installations.
- **Detection methods:** Vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys) can identify outdated browser binaries. EDR tools may detect post-exploitation activity such as shell spawns from `chrome.exe`.
