## Vulnerability Description
CVE-2026-0322 describes a remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability within the PAN-OS management interface. An authenticated administrator with access to the management web interface can bypass security filters and execute arbitrary OS commands with root privileges. In the case of the Prisma Browser, the advisory includes the monthly Chromium vulnerability roll-up, addressing memory corruption and logic flaws inherent to the browser engine.
## Exploitation
- **Status:** Not exploited (No reports of active exploitation in the wild at time of advisory).
- **Complexity:** Low
- **Attack Vector:** Network (Requires access to the Management Interface)
## Impact
- **Confidentiality:** High (Full access to system data and configuration)
- **Integrity:** High (Ability to modify system files and firmware)
- **Availability:** High (Potential for full system shutdown or bricking)
## Remediation
### Patches
Palo Alto Networks has released the following patched versions. Users are urged to upgrade immediately:
- **PAN-OS 12.2:** Upgrade to 12.2.4 or later.
- **PAN-OS 12.1:** Upgrade to 12.1.4-h12, 12.1.7-h8, 12.1.10-h2 or later.
- **PAN-OS 11.2:** Upgrade to 11.2.4-h22, 11.2.7-h21, 11.2.10-h15, 11.2.13-h3 or later.
- **Prisma Browser:** Upgrade to 152.8.5.83 or later.
### Workarounds
- **Restrict Management Access:** Ensure the management interface is only accessible from a dedicated management network (MGT) and not exposed to the public internet.
- **Apply ACLs:** Use Access Control Lists (ACLs) to limit management access to specific, trusted administrative IP addresses.
## Detection
- **Indicators of Compromise:** Monitor system logs for unusual command execution originating from the `mgmtsrvr` process or unauthorized administrative logins.
- **Detection methods:** Review PAN-OS "System Logs" and "Configuration Logs" for unexpected changes or shell-style characters (e.g., `;`, `|`, `&`) in input fields within the WebUI.
